Match Report #3

Sheff v Charlie

Not going to get away there, Sheff.

And so to Q3, and who should pop up half way through it but Rich “Pimpernell” Isherwood, scoring his first ever post graduation Allstars goal. Marc Mullen, his path blocked in the White's penalty area, pulled the ball back to edge to the box whereupon Rich “caressed” the ball into the bottom left corner of Billy's goal, through a crowd of white shirts.

Billy's Throw

A hernia inducing throw out for Billy the Fish.

Mince further extended Team Sid’s lead just before the end of Q3. Impressive debutant Charlie crossed from the left to find the WebMaster unmarked in the box, who just managed to slot it home under Billy’s right arm pit (and giving the WebMaster one of his favourite Allstars moments, when hearing the enthusiastic cheer of his 8 year old boy, Stanley, 30 yards behind him). The cheer may have been laden with a certain relief as it provided temporary respite from his superb duel down the White’s right flank with Mikey Shaw who, according to our resident ginger warrior spectator, played “a stormer”. Indeed, young Mikey won himself a penalty at one point after being brought down by Marc. No-once claimed it, but Marc “Sweary Man” Mullen gallantly awarded it against himself. Sadly for the youngster, his spot kick flew just wide of Sid’s left hand.

Mikey Penalty

Marc "Van Bommel" Mullen owns up.

Shaw Junior made no mistake in the post-game penalty competition though, and he was not to be cowed in the challenge throughout the game, later viciously attacking Mince’s right knee with his left ear.
