Match Report #4
Charlie races through. Q4 saw the Whites threatening a comeback, pushed on by Si Heath’s Pirlo-esque probing saunters and Lucia’s dangerous corners, when Mark Halliwell scored his customary goal to peg the score back to 3-1. Poor Sid still awaits an Allstars clean sheet, but one first-time (innocent) spectator was heard to murmur “he’s good isn’t he” at one early stage in the game. Neil Cook also had a thunderous header cannon back from the crossbar with Sid grounded. It was a temporary respite though, as the ever-smiling and willing runner, Charlie (who’d earlier had one of his own headers hit the bar) reinstated Tangerine’s 3 goal lead and cemented his claim to Man of the Match. Baby Cookie wasn’t to be outdone though, and with 3 minutes remaining he scored to make the score 4-2. Tangerines hung on though to see time out.
Charlie receives the "Man of the Match" Golden Boot award. As Allstars tradition demands, the penalty competition followed...
